SHOW READY
Collecting everything, pricing everything, and possibly taking inventory of everything before a show can be daunting, especially on the morning you plan to leave. I have recently gotten out of the swing of shows and have taken a cavalier, devil-may-care attitude to work. My undiagnosed ADHD may have a factor to play, but this morning is the morning to get everything accomplished before 4 pm, the non-specific time I chose to drive to Eugene.
I have already unloaded the glaze kiln that had been cooling since yesterday morning. I knew the larger planters that I made did not entirely survive the quick turnaround of sculpting, drying, and bisque firing. I chose to glaze them and load them for my own personal use. They turned out beautiful. I will have to schedule another large planter building when I return for the upcoming holiday season. I aspire to make a drop-off at the stores in the north sometime in mid-October; however, due to a lack of enthusiasm, it may be late October. I am sure the time does not matter, since no one really shops for the holidays until November.
Even now, instead of focusing on what I should be doing, I find plenty of other things to attend to besides work. I will soon be forced to charge ahead with packing the car, but for now, I’ll wait until the rain stops and make some breakfast or clean out the closet.
