To early…wasting time.
Today I woke up to my alarm beeping at 6 am. I roll over and reach across Rhona, who has taken to sleeping in my spot about 2 am in the mornings. I pack my car, pack myself, and am off to Brookings for what I can only vaguely remember as a midday start time to the festival. I drive two hours, coffee in one hand and a breakfast sandwich plus the steering wheel in the other. I arrive at 10 am with plenty of time to get myself sorted. I was just about to take the canopy off my roof rack when the organizer comes over and asks what I am doing. I explained that I was setting up for the 1 pm opening time.
He kindly, if not slightly aggravated, told me that he sent an email out that had full instructions that setup was not until 3 pm today. I apologize and thank him for this odd turn of events. I can’t help but recall that I could be home with my dogs, sitting on my front porch, mug of coffee in hand, enjoying my day. I resist the urge to head back home for the day even if it is only a few hours. Instead, I head to the local library in hopes of free internet and a good deal of time to work on my website.
